The
Pamper Group, Inc. has acquired local legend
Life Essentials Wellness Spa in Steamboat Springs, according to C.E.O.
Pamela Peretz.

“We’ve always admired the way Allyse Eggleston and her staff have run
Life Essentials, and we’re committed to a seamless continuation of the great spa experience,” commented Ms. Peretz. “When the opportunity presented itself because Allyse was moving with her family back to Michigan, we jumped on it. We truly believe it’s one of the best spas in town, and we plan on retaining all the top therapists and managers that make it such a special oasis. We’re also going to do some upgrades to make it even better, “ Ms. Peretz continued.
Life Essentials has been in operation for over 10 years, and has become the most popular downtown spa for locals and visiting guests.
The purchase will add to the collection of spas owned by The Pamper Group, and provides an important strategic downtown location. The company also operates
All Season Wellness, a highly successful Asian-infused day spa located mid-town, as well as
A Calming Touch, a boutique day spa located on the mountain in the beautiful EagleRidge Lodge.
To thank all previous guests for their past patronage, the Life Essentials Wellness Spa is offering a 20% discount to all returning guests of the spa.

Just when you thought that the world was getting its equilibrium back, a day spa in Steamboat Spring is now offering the "Mountain Man Makeover."
"We have lots of guys who want to get a massage and just get cleaned up," says Pam Peretz who owns All Season Wellness in Steamboat Springs. "We thought we'd put together a package that would do just that."
The "Mountain Man Makeover" includes a 60-minute massage or a facial (client's choice), plus a manicure and a pedicure.
"Most men may have had a massage, but not a manicure or a pedicure. We've had a lot of girlfriends and wives booking their man for this package because their nails are a little gnarly. And we've had some guys come in who were getting ready for a date, and even getting married. They want to look their best," said Ms. Peretz.
The entire Mountain Man Makeover takes about 2.5 hours, and runs $149, which represents a significant savings over separately booked services.
"Guys come in here looking a little rough, and walk out cleaned up and feeling a little better about themselves. Even guys like to be pampered a bit. It's not just for the ladies anymore," Ms. Peretz concludes.

Take a deep, cleansing breath. Hold it for a moment, and then exhale, slowly. Here's a guide to help you find the perfect Day Spa in Colorado that will really help you to relax.
- Does the Day Spa offer a unique environment that sets the mood for your Day Spa adventure? Is it Asian-infused, or country rustic? This is going to be your sanctuary for the next several hours, so pick a place that will help you get in your comfort zone.
- Does the Day Spa offer professional spa products, or just some off the shelf products. You should be able to try new products that you wouldn't normally get from a run-of-the-mill facility.
- Are all of the massage therapists licensed and do they come from strong backgrounds, like the Canyon Ranch Spa or other upscale spas. This is a good sign that they know how to provide the quality guest experience that great spas are known for.
- Does the owner work at the Spa, or is it simply an absentee owner who's trying to milk as much money as possible.
- Are the spa packages affordable? It doesn't make much sense to overpay considering the economic times.
- Does the Spa have innovative treatment offerings? Maybe you'd like to try a new body scrub, a creative massage and facial combination, or a couples massage. Try something you've never had before.
- Are you offered complimentary beverages, such as water infused with fruit or green tea?
- Is the facility immaculately clean? Is there a real commitment to the guest experience that starts when you walk in the door.
- Is there plenty of free parking? Is it easy to find? You don't want to be stressed before you even enter the door.
- Can you take a tour beforehand if you have any questions. Be sure you'll get the desired Spahhh effect.
Day Spas are not a luxury and the benefits of massage are real. A Day Spa in Colorado can help you reduce stress, improve circulation, enhance your mental state and help soothe sore muscles.

I'm often asked what are some different things to do in Steamboat Springs. So here's my list of 10 unusual things you can do in Steamboat Springs besides skiing, boarding, hiking and biking.
1. Take a Dog Sled Tour
There are at least two dog sled companies in the Steamboat Springs area that offer sledding guests the opportunity of lifetime. Terrain is comparable to the Yukon in Canada or Alaska's interior. Check out Grizzlet.com or Red Runner Dog Sled Tours.
2. Play with Tractors at Dig It
Billed as the first heavy equipment play arena in the United States, this is your chance to actually use giant bulldozers, excavators and skid loaders, moving dirt and piles of snow in moving projects. See www.digthis.info for more details.
3. Get an authentic Thai Massage in Steamboat Springs
After a stint at the Chetawan Thai Traditional Massage School right outside of Bangkok, Thailand, Pam and her staff bring back this authentic experience of Thai Yoga massage at her Asian-inspired Steamboat Springs day spa. Book your Thai massage in Steamboat at www.allseasonwellness.com.
4. Drive on an Ice Course at the Bridgestone Driving School
Learn to drive in snow and ice at the Bridgestone Winter Driving School. They offer programs for all different levels, and their courses are some of the finest and toughest in the world. See their web site at www.winterdrive.com
5. Go Fly Fishing in the Middle of Winter
Think you can't go fly fishing in the winter? Think again. Bucking Rainbow will take you to some incredible private land where you can try your luck at trophy trout. They'll outfit you perfectly for the winter weather. Check out www.buckingrainbow.com.
6. Experience Real, Natural Hot Springs
Sure, Steamboat Springs is known for its Old Town Hot Springs in the middle of downtown, but you can take a four-wheel drive vehicle or a tour to the Strawberry Park Hot Springs, nestled in the mountains close to town. And, it's clothing optional after dark. See www.strawberryhotsprings.com.
7. Go on a Cemetery Tour
It's always cryptic and fascinating to visit an old cemetery. In the Steamboat Springs cemetery, you'll find the gravestones of the Crawford's, one of the settling families of Steamboat, among other early ranchers. You'll also notice that the lifespan of most residents was considerably shorter. The cemetery is located just west of downtown on Highway 40.
8. See the Famous Lighted Man
The Lighted Man is a Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival tradition, first started by Claudius Banks in 1936. Today, that tradition continues at Howelsen Hill in the middle of downtown Steamboat. The lighted man skis down the hill with torches and flames, preceding a giant fireworks show. See www.steamboat-chamber.com/signature.events.asp.
9. Watch Ski Jumpers Train in the Middle of Summer
Chances are you've seen the infamous "Agony of Defeat" opening on ABC's Wide World of Sports, where a ski jumper tumbles down in a radical fall. But did you know that you can watch some of the world's best ski jumpers train in Steamboat Springs during the summer at Howelsen Hill?
10. See the World's only High School Marching Band on Skis
Billed as the only high school marching band on skis, you can see these musicians doing their thing during the famous Winter Carnival every February in Steamboat Springs, CO. If you think walking and chewing gum at the same time is hard, you should try doing this. Visit www.steamboat-chamber.com/signature.events.asp.
